Welcome to MyMiseducation
Founded in 2018 by Latina writer Maria Molina, MyMiseducation covers film, TV, music, and books, while also sharing personal reflections on self-love, personal growth, mental health, and parenting her son Sebastian, who has autism. Here, we look back on growing up to explore what it means to be an “adult” when you were taught all the wrong things.
The name MyMiseducation is a nod to Lauryn Hill’s iconic album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and embodies the journey of questioning what we were taught and rewriting those lessons.

Meet the Writer
Maria Molina is of Puerto Rican and Ecuadorian descent and lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, Albert, and their son, Sebastian. She earned her BA in English with a minor in Psychology from Kutztown University in 2011. She thought of publishing a blog in 2017 when she struggled to find a platform for her writing. Feeling down about diverting from her creative writing dreams, she picked up her pen after years of not writing and created a blog where she could take the first step in reclaiming the person she wanted to be—a writer. It wasn’t until the birth of her son in 2018 that Maria decided to take her writing seriously, feed her literary passions, and fulfill her calling. Email her with any questions or comments here.
